I think it was during COVID that I got introduced to the concept of paint and sip. It sounded to me a bit constrained: a person tells you what to paint. I usually don’t paint at all, but if I think of painting, it should be something that feels like freedom.

So there we were, each one in their own house, all sharing screens and watching a YouTube video together, and painting a Giraffe. I think there is something about art that requires structure: I judged the activity before doing it, but while painting I felt very good.

Sometimes you have to put a date and time to creativity, pay for some kind of service if you need to, and do it. The creativity will be on time, there, waiting, having a sip of wine.
