I think I’ll start sharing small quotes that I’ve saved from books and interviews. This is one I saved from the Book of Joy by the Dalai Lama.

That’s the main reason that I’m not sad and morose. There’s a Tibetan saying: “Wherever you have friends that’s your country, and wherever you receive love, that’s your home.’”

I can relate profoundly to what this phrase expresses. I also think that making the place where you are your home, by bonding with the people you’re surrounded by, is probably the only way of successfully migrating to a new country. It’s too hard to do it otherwise. You need that support, that love, that companionship.

After a while, through simply bonding with people, one day you look around you, and what you see is home.
